My experience with poultry spans a few decades. My parents raised poultry for meat and eggs in Washington State when I was a young toddler. My dad continued to keep chickens, turkens, ducks, geese and turkeys throughout most of my years growing up as a kid. After several years without poultry, I found my way back into the wonderful world of chickens in my early adulthood. My first after all this time was a leghorn pullet that I found outside a poultry slaughter house in Delaware. I took her home, cared for her until she could learn to walk (after being in a feedout slaughter prep cage) and then we gifted her to a friend as a resident of her horse stable in Minnesota. We moved to Florida in December of 2001, came full fledged into poultry in 2002 with hatchery chicks in bantam cochin and frizzles. I soon discovered that I had more grandiose plans, and hatchery stock just wouldn't do. That started us into the world of show poultry along with our Malaysian Seramas. So when people ask me when I got into poultry, while I have a history with fowl, I officially deem it circa 2002.
Our moto is "Breed to standard, strive for perfection!"
Our quality of birds and experience keeps us at the top of the breeders and exhibitors list in the United States. We look forward to sharing our love of Malaysian Seramas with you.
Along with Malaysian Seramas, we enjoy other poultry, waterfowl, peafowl and ornamental pheasants. Click the links to the left to learn more about us and our breeds that we enjoy.
Please be patient while I build this site. I started it on April 29, 2008 and hope to having it fully up and running by May 01, 2008.
Thanks for visiting!
Sincerely,
Julie & Savannah
